Emily Calandrelli

Emily Calandrelli is an executive producer and an Emmy nominated host of FOX’s Xploration Outer Space
and a chief correspondent on Netflix’s show, Bill Nye Saves The World, which just launched its second season.
Emily, who was named to Adweek’s “11 Celebrities and Influencers Raising the Bar for Creativity in 2017”, is
an accomplished writer and speaker on the topics of space exploration, scientific literacy, and equality. Her
first two novels in a brand-new chapter book series, Ada Lace, on the Case, centered around an eight-year- old
girl with a knack for science, math, and solving mysteries with technology, was released in August of 2017.
Emily has also given two TEDx Talks: “I Don’t Do Math” and “Science Exploration is the Worst.” Her goal is to
inspire more girls, women, and people of color to pursue STEM careers.

She attended West Virginia University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical and
Aerospace Engineering, and MIT where she received two Masters of Science degrees, one in Aeronautics and
Astronautics and the other in Technology and Policy. She is passionate about space exploration. Through her
show, she wants to prove that the space industry is more exciting today than ever before in history. 
As the host, Emily explains science-related topics in an easily digestible, and entertaining, way. Emily also
cares deeply about increasing the level of scientific literacy among the general public. She believes that
everyone, despite their educational background, can understand scientific topics. Emily works to foster a
higher level of scientific literacy in society through various projects and speaking engagements.
