Explore various areas of science with hands-on demonstration, experiements and table top displays that explore the nature of light, optics, chemistry, brain teasers,and other science topics with staff from TELUS World of Science - Edmonton.
The TELUS World of Science – Edmonton continues to provide fun family activities during the Jasper Dark Sky Festival.
The Big Bang Expo takes place in the gym of the Jasper Elementary School and on the school grounds outside on both Friday and Saturday and will showcase a variety of science and astronomy related activities.
A key highlight of the Big Bang Expo will be the new TELUS World of Science’s digital inflatable planetarium which will offer a variety of shows for both young and old during the two days. The live show, Our Universe, will take all ages on a journey through our night sky and our place in the universe while the show One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure will be geared for the little stargazers. The new 360 degree show “Horizon” is a Canada 150 show that showcases the people and places across Canada!

TWOSE Displays & Hands-on Activities
See various science demonstrations presented by our scientists throughout the day which include topics on electricity and magnetism, cryogenics, lasers, and other wonders.
Science Tots program
Activities geared toward the younger scientists including dot matching, constellation creation, paper circuit and a few other child-friendly activities.
Program a LEGO EV3 robot to do various tasks, try your hand at controlling a small robotic moon rover, and meet ROGER the robot (a walking/talking robot ambassador) and a real life size working R2D2!!
Virtual Reality Experiences
Use Google Cardboard and a few actual VR googles to explore the world of virtual reality.
Try your hand (and brain) on some table top Brain teasers!
Try your hand at using a small catapult to strike a target
Build your own 16 power telescope $10.00 each Small Electric Moon Buggies $5.00 each (cost recovery fee for each activity).
