Science for Breakfast with Torah Kachur

An event every day that begins at 9:00am, repeating until October 18, 2020
When we head off to Mars we aren’t just sending humans and really really really amazing technology, we are also sending millions of our happy passengers. These happy passengers are our microbes and there is a rainforest worth in our gut, on our skin and pretty much everywhere else in our body. Our microbes are essential for providing vitamins, keeping us healthy and warding off all kinds of illnesses and conditions and so understanding how our microbiome is affected by spaceflight and long-term space habitation is absolutely crucial to the success of any mission. So let’s put down our telescopes and pick up our microscopes and peer into our microbes that call us home.
