Nadia Drake, Science Writer

Nadia Drake is an award-winning science journalist who grew up thinking about cosmic questions and staring at Saturn through giant telescopes. She has an astronomy blog at National Geographic, where she wrote the magazine's July 2015 cover story about the New Horizons spacecraft's encounter with Pluto, and is also a contributing writer with the news site. When Nadia is not writing about everything otherworldly, she can often be found exploring the mountains and jungles tucked into Earth's most remote corners. She holds a PhD in genetics from Cornell University, a certificate in science communication from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and was once a professional ballet dancer.
